On Tuesday night a milestone in this significant project was celebrated in Port Pirie, when the brand and website for The Uni Hub Spencer Gulf was formally launched.
Guest included future students and their families, industry partners and Local, State and Federal Elected Members. Those attending, numbering around 100, heard from Mayor John Rohde, Port Pirie Regional Council, Sam Johnson, Mayor of Port August City Council and Chair of Spencer Gulf Cities, Gen Wells, staffer to Rowan Ramsey MP and Industry representative Michael Eades, Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Port Pirie Regional Health Service. All spoke with warmth and enthusiasm in seeing a collective vision come to life for the region.
Founder and Creative Director of SmithAssociates, Rowan Smith, shared the process of community and stakeholder engagement undertaken as the new brand evolved.
Project Manager Moira Coffey and Project Coordinator Reg Dennis provided an overview of the next stages of the project which will see; course options evolve, the infrastructure and building transformation completed and the doors swing open early in 2019.
The evening’s event concluded with Dianah Walter as MC, inviting guests to mingle and speak with the project partners. The Project team were delighted to see young people and their families leaving with packages of information and importantly, smiles on their faces, at the thought of being able to study a tertiary course locally.
