CQUniversity Australia, one of the most trusted universities in the Australian online education space is expanding its services into the Spencer Gulf, enabling people to stay in the region to study.
CQUniversity will be delivering supported online offerings through a new partnership with the Uni Hub Spencer Gulf.
The deal will see the Uni Hub Spencer Gulf join forces with CQUniversity Australia to deliver several courses via a supported distance education study model.
The courses to be delivered by CQUniversity at the Port Pirie hub include a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Psychological Science and Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary).
The delivery model will allow students to access facilities, resources and local support as part of their online studies.
CQUniversity’s Associate Vice-Chancellor for the South Australian region, Professor Drew Dawson said that the University was looking forward to working with the Hub and providing opportunities for students to access a variety of high-quality course offerings.
“We are one of the fastest growing universities in Australia and offer more than 300 courses from Certificate to PhD level,” Professor Dawson said.
“CQUniversity is also the only university to have a campus presence in every mainland state of Australia and the only university to place such a strong focus on breaking down geographical barriers when it comes to higher education access.
“We have been delivering distance education since 1974 and have continually evolved our offerings in this space.
“What’s more, we have also partnered with other regional study hubs including Geraldton and Cooma to deliver courses using the same model we will be using in the Spencer Gulf,” said Professor Dawson.
“Studying an online course with the support of a local university hub takes the isolation out of online learning and allows students to access important resources and form connections with other students and staff on the ground.
“CQUniversity has enabled thousands of students to realise success through online study and we hope that we can offer students in the Spencer Gulf the same service and support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
“CQUniversity is a national leader in the delivery of higher education and has been delivering distance education offerings for almost half a century. In fact, was one of the first institutions in Australia to operate in this space.”
The Uni Hub Spencer Gulf Board Chair, Dr Jen Cleary said that the agreement means more options and opportunity for local students when it comes to accessing quality higher education offerings.
“The establishment of the hub was all about providing people of the region with a greater choice when it comes to higher education,” said Dr Cleary.
“Our partnership with CQUniversity will provide prospective students with more options to study a variety of courses and will hopefully mean that more locals will choose to stay in the region to study, rather than relocate.
“By offering more choice and support we hope that geography is now no longer a boundary to getting a quality higher education experience.
“I think this presents a fantastic opportunity for locals to explore their study options with the Hub and CQUniversity and know that they will be partnering with a university that has a proven track record in this space.”
Course applications and enrolments are now open and anyone wanting more information is encouraged to visit the Hub at 85 Ellen Street Port Pirie or phone 1800 549 779. More information can also be found at www.unihubsg.org.
