Duration: 1 Year (Part-Time)

Graduates from the Undergraduate Certificate in Engineering will have developed fundamental skills and knowledge for application in the engineering field and professional upskilling for life-long learning. Completion of this course will provide you with a pathway to the Associate Degree of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at CQUniversity.

Study Mode
Online, with local support through Uni Hub Spencer Gulf

Recommended Study
English, Science subjects, Maths.

Timeframe
Students of this course are generally employed in industry and are therefore assumed to be studying part-time (one year). 

Core subjects
Students will begin by studying either Fundamentals of Professional Engineering OR Professional and Sustainable Engineering Practice AND one of the following:
• Fundamentals of Energy and Electricity
• Engineering Statics
• Materials for Engineers
Students must also study the introductory mathematics unit Foundation Mathematics.

Students are required to undertake a combination of core and elective subjects. A full list of subjects and overview of course structure is available on request.

Residential Schools 
Compulsory residential schools are required for the following units: Fundamentals of Professional Engineering, Professional and Sustainable Engineering Practice, Materials for Engineers, Mine Planning and Design, Geological Science.

Industry recognition
This qualification was developed in response to the community and industry need based on the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) review and as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

Further study pathways
Completion of this Undergraduate Certificate in Introductory Engineering will provide you with a pathway to the Associate Degree of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at CQUniversity.
