Local residents had the chance to find out how to study university at a local level at Uni Hub Spencer Gulf’s Port Pirie and Port Augusta Open Days.

Uni Hub’s university partners CQUniversity, Flinders University and The University of Adelaide were on hand to speak about university pathways and degrees, while local employers provided information about graduate opportunities in the region.

Uni Hub Chief Executive Officer Anita Crisp said the Open Days were ideal for people thinking about university, but not sure where to start.

“People were able to come in and have a look at our study centres facilities and find out about local options for university study and career development across a range of professional and technical fields,” she said.

“We had a wide range of people come in from senior school students through to those already in the workforce and looking to upskill or change careers.

“The benefit of our Open Days was that it gave locals the chance to talk directly with our partner universities and learn more about degrees that might be of interest and also find out from local employers where the future demand is for skilled workers in the region.

“The Uni Hub team were also on hand to provide information about how Uni Hub can support people throughout their university journey – from enrolment through to graduation.”

Ms Crisp said the Uni Hub valued the relationships it had developed with its university partners and the local employers.

“We’re really proud of the strong partnerships we have with local industry sectors and our partner universities to offer qualifications that will help ‘grow our own’ skilled workforce, right here in our own community.”
