Are you interested in studying the Bachelor of Nursing in 2025?

You can study this degree locally through our university partner, CQUniversity, with extensive support from Uni Hub Spencer Gulf. Direct application with us is simple, and there are a number of ways to gain entry, depending on your education background and qualifications.

IMPORTANT DATE: applications close 30 December 2024 for anyone applying to study a Bachelor of Nursing in Semester 1 of 2025.  Make sure you contact the Uni Hub BEFORE our Christmas closure.

Take a look below for more information about the application process – whether you are an enrolled nurse, a school leaver or it’s been a while since you have studied.

I'm an enrolled nurse:

Automatic credit will be applied when you successfully apply for the CM77 Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse pathway). This course is designed for applicants who already hold a Diploma of Nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

Nurses who have obtained their Diploma of Enrolled Nursing under 7 years ago should be eligible for 8 units of credit (1 year). Nurses who have obtained their Diploma over 7 years ago will not be eligible for as much credit.

It is important to note that as a university student, there are several mandatory requirements that are in addition to existing requirements as an enrolled nurse. Completing the university’s mandatory requirements can take several months. Make sure you get in early and speak with the Uni Hub team to get a clear understanding of these additional requirements and timeframes that may be involved.

I'm a Year 12 student:

You can apply directly with the university for the CL91 Bachelor of Nursing – there is no need to apply through SATAC. This means you can apply now. Once your ATAR has been released, CQ University obtain your results and will process your application, sending you an offer if you meet entry requirements.

The team at the Uni Hub can walk you through the application process. Just give your local Uni Hub a call and arrange a time to catch up. During this meeting you will be able to find out more about course expectations, including important mandatory requirements that need to be completed BEFORE you start your studies. These requirements include (but aren’t limited to) things like  immunisations, safety and police checks, and first aid training. Completing mandatory requirements can take several months. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to organise and complete these.

What happens if I don’t get the ATAR I need for the course?  Firstly, don’t worry! Not everyone has a straightforward path into university. Make sure you come and speak to us about alternative pathways. This could include CQUniversity’s Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS). This free course is designed to meet entry requirements for your desired degree.

It's been a while since I've been at school...

The first thing to do is come in and speak to one of Uni Hub’s friendly staff. We can provide you information about the pathways for people who are returning to study after some time away.

CQUniversity’s Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) is a great option if you want to undertake tertiary study – it will help you meet the prerequisite subjects for your desired degree. STEPS is also a great launching pad into a degree – it can help give you some skills, experience and confidence to undertake further study.
