Uni Hub Spencer Gulf has expanded its services in Port Lincoln with the official opening of The Workshop on November 4 – a new dedicated space designed to support students and the wider community.
Located in the former Baptist Church Hall, The Workshop will provide a flexible and multi-purpose environment to complement the existing Port Lincoln University Centre.
Uni Hub’s Port Lincoln University Centre Manager Cate Wuttke said the new facility would strengthen the Uni Hub’s ability to deliver high-quality support for local students.
“We know that studying locally in a purpose-fit environment makes a huge difference to student success,” Ms Wuttke said.
“The Workshop gives us the ability to extend that support while also creating a place that the community can benefit from.”
The space will be used for student group work, meetings, and short courses aimed at professional development, while also being available for hire by local organisations and community groups.
She said the expansion would not have been possible without the strong support of the City of Port Lincoln.
“We are really grateful to the City of Port Lincoln for their support in helping us establish The Workshop,” Ms Wuttke said.
“It’s a great example of how council and community organisations can work together to deliver practical facilities that benefit both students and the wider community.”
City of Port Lincoln Mayor Diana Mislov said it was fantastic to see the Baptist Church building used in such a positive way for the community.
“The expansion of the Uni Hub Spencer Gulf operations is wonderful news for our community and local region, as it means more people can access the support and services they need right here in Port Lincoln, without having to travel elsewhere,” she said.
“The new Workshop area even includes a small kitchenette, providing a comfortable space for users to take a break and connect with others.”
