Five Uni Hub Spencer Gulf students have been awarded scholarships to help them on their tertiary education journey.
The scholarships have been made available thanks to the generous donations by an anonymous donor, John Pirie Secondary School and the Pirie Partnership Group.
Five scholarships across three categories were made available this year – a Masters of Education Scholarship, a Country Education Scholarship and three Country Scholarships for any of the Uni Hub supported courses.
Recipients included:
Pamella Brown: $1000 Country Scholarship
Justin Borland: $1000 Country Scholarship
Gabrielle Dunning: $1000 Country Scholarship
Jess Axon: $1000 Country Education Scholarship
Erin McDowell: $2000 Master of Education Scholarship
The scholarships were presented to students at the Pirie Partnership monthly meeting on July 29 at the Port Pirie Uni Hub Spencer Gulf.
Director Moira Coffey said she was grateful to the donors who put forward the funds to assist Uni Hub Spencer Gulf students with their study.
“University study is a major financial commitment, not only fees but book costs, time of work for placements, travel costs for those who live outside of Port Pirie and many other incidentals,” Ms Coffey said.
“Scholarship donors not only help to ease this financial burden, but are also investing in the future skills capacity of the Spencer Gulf.”
