Uni Hub Spencer Gulf’s Port Augusta University Centre will open its doors to the public with an Open Day on December 6.

The day will give locals the opportunity to look at the Uni Hub’s recently upgraded facilities, as well as learn more about studying university locally, without the need to leave the region.

Port Augusta student and campus coordinator Shanon Pillion said the Open Day coincided with 2023 university applications which were currently underway.

“Anyone who has thought about university study is encouraged to drop into the Uni Hub to find out how they can study tertiary education in the region,” she said.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a school leaver, already in the workforce, looking to upskill or change careers. The Uni Hub can provide advice on what pathways are available.

“Now is the ideal time for anyone considering tertiary study to drop in to find out more about the support provided by the Uni Hub.

“We have partnerships with CQUniversity, Flinders University and The Adelaide University that allow us to offer supported degrees that address skill shortages in the region. This means you will be studying in areas with strong job and career opportunities right here in the region.”

Ms Pillion said the open day would give local people the chance to look at the facilities at the Port Augusta University Centre, which included an upgraded student lounge, study and kitchen area.

The Uni Hub’s Port Augusta Open Day will be held on Tuesday, 6 December, from noon to 6pm, followed by Business Port Augusta monthly meeting from 6pm.

The Port Augusta University Centre is located at 52 Commercial Road, Port Augusta.
