Uni Hub Spencer Gulf, in collaboration with the Port Augusta City Council and Port Augusta Childcare Centre, is proud to offer local community members the opportunity to study a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. This initiative is part of the Growing our Own campaign and supports the development of a skilled, local early childhood workforce.
Why is this course being offered in Port Augusta?
There is a recognised shortage of qualified early childhood educators in Port Augusta. By delivering this course locally, we’re helping to grow our own workforce and create job-ready professionals who can support our region’s families and children.
Who can apply?
Anyone who is:
Interested in working in the early childhood sector
Willing to work in Port Augusta
What’s involved?
Duration: 12-month commitment
Mode: Online study through CQUniversity
Placement: 160 hours of unpaid practical placement
(with the potential for additional paid hours)

This program is part-funded by Port Augusta City Council and Uni Hub Spencer Gulf.

Participants must hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (funded by the Council).
